Guide: get your Meta accounts ready

What you need before connecting, how to verify your business and what to do if something fails.

1. What you need before you start

With this at hand, connecting takes a few minutes.

  1. A personal Facebook account that is an admin of your business.
  2. A Meta business portfolio (Business Manager). If you do not have one, the connection flow helps you create it.
  3. A phone number for the business that can receive a code by SMS or call.
  4. For Instagram and Messenger: your Facebook page and your professional Instagram account, linked to each other.
  5. Your business’s legal name and, if you have one, its tax ID.

2. You can start without verifying

You do not need business verification to connect and try ReceptIA. Verifying raises the limits of your WhatsApp Business account and gives you more room to grow. We recommend it, but it is not required to start.

3. How to verify your business with Meta

Verification is done in Meta Business Suite, under Business settings, Security Center.

  1. Go to business.facebook.com and open Business settings.
  2. Go to Security Center and choose Start verification.
  3. Enter your business’s legal name, address and phone exactly as they appear on your documents.
  4. Upload a document proving your business exists. In the Dominican Republic, the RNC certificate (DGII) or the commercial registry usually works.
  5. If Meta asks for more proof, a utility bill (power, water, phone) in the business’s name with the same address usually works.
  6. Confirm by email or phone when Meta asks, and wait for the review. It can take several days.

4. If your number is already on the WhatsApp app

A number can be on the WhatsApp app or connected to the API, not both at once, unless Meta’s flow offers to connect it without deleting the app.

  1. Before you start, back up your chats from the app.
  2. Follow the options Meta’s flow shows: it guides you step by step and sends a code to the number.
  3. If the flow asks you to move the number to the API, the WhatsApp app will stop working with that number. If you prefer to keep the app, use a new number for ReceptIA.
  4. If you are unsure which option suits you, write to us before connecting.

5. Common errors

  1. The Meta window does not open: allow pop-ups for superhostme.com and try again.
  2. Your business does not show up: you logged in with a Facebook account that does not manage it. Log out and use the right one.
  3. The code does not arrive: confirm the number can receive SMS or calls and wait a minute before asking for another.
  4. The number is already registered: it is active on the WhatsApp app or another platform. See the previous section.
  5. The connection cancels halfway: you can repeat it from the step where you stopped; nothing you did is lost.
